Over 125 meals were served last evening at our Annual Spaghetti Dinner at The Other Side. The Kochie Family again served up a wonderful meal that was enjoyed by all. A wide array of desserts which were prepared by our members and their families were also served.

The second mailing for the fund drive will be completed this week. It has been a very successful effort this year far surpassing the budgeted amount to date. With another successful round this hopefully will be one of our most financially rewarding year in a long time

The Haunted hay ride to the Freeland Public Park and Fire Prevention Open House was held at the Freeland Fire Station tonight it had to be cut short last weekend because of the unexpected snow storm.

FFD participated in the annual safe trick or treat on Center Street this afternoon we provided sweet treats to the children and also assisted Freeland PD in traffic control there were more than 500 children that visited the streets of Freeland.

Last night Freeland Fire Department assisted the Freeland Municipal Authority in the semi annual flushing of the hydrant system in the boro. The flushing of the hydrants helps keep the system clear and also gives the fire department an opportunity to check the hydrants for any problems.

FFD held the annual fire prevention program for the Roman Catholic Community CCD classes this morning in the Parish center located on Fern Street 50 children from grades 1 through 6 and 10 adults attended the program.

During this evening's run an opportunity presented itself for FFD firefighters to familiarize themselves with the rear of the structures in the 600 block of Centre St. This area has no parallel alley so it isn't often the firefighters have the opportunity to "check out" the structures.

FFD loaded up the truck and engine and headed east on I80 to attend the PA State Firemens Convention at Lake Harmony and Albrightsville Fire Companies. Our firefighters enjoyed a fine day of conversing with friends and renewing old acquaintances.
