Last night Rich Lindsey ( Freeland Chief 52) and his daughter Sarah Lindsey Freeland Firefighter were honored for their heroics. Rich and Sarah rescued a 98 year old woman that was trapped in her second floor bedroom as a fire was spreading from a building next door a 709-711 Main Street.

Chief Joseph J. Stepansky authorized the release of the Training Report - 2014 which exhibited the dedication of department firefighters to improving their firefighting skills. For a second straight year over 3,000 hours were spent by firefighters during training.
The entire Freeland Fire Department family would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year in 2015.
The membership of FFD attended the viewing and funeral services for Past Chief Robert "Pal" Whitehead. He provided many years of services to both the Citizens Hose Co. and FFD as an officer and Life Member and will be dearly missed.
FFD expresses its condolences on the passing on Past Citizens Hose and Department Chief Robert "Pal" Whitehead. He joined the Citizens Hose in 1963 becoming Foreman of Hose in 1965, Citizens Chief in 1966, and FFD Chief in 1973 serving in that capacity until 1977.

Upon his completion of rounds visiting the good girls and boys of department members, Santa stopped at the station to deliver some special gifts. The Inman Family, Kim, Steve, and 5 year old daughter, Pazelyn, were invited for a special Santa visit.

As in the past Santa Claus made his annual visit to the Northside to visit the good girls and boys of department members. The rescue engine along with the utility escorted the Jolly Old Elf as he made his way from residence to residence delivering gifts and good will.
FFD Chaplin Rev. Gary Mensinger recently conducted a critical incident debriefing for the responders to the fatal fire in the boro. Rev. Mensinger provided a program which provided all the opportunity to identify any under laying issues in the tragic fire which occurred in the boro.

The FFD Chief Officers are preparing to start their seventh year as the leadership of the fire division of the department. Led by Chief Joseph J. Stepansky who will be beginning his fourth two year term this group during their tenure purchased the new engine and upgraded the truck.
